Uttar Pradesh Budget 2026-27
the Uttar Pradesh Budget 2026-27, presented on February 11, 2026, is the largest in the state’s history with a total outlay of ₹9,12,696 crore (a 12.2% increase from the previous year). It is a “poll-ready” budget aimed at achieving a $1 trillion economy before the 2027 elections.
Financial Pillars:
- Total Budget: ₹9.12 Lakh Crore.
- GSDP Growth: Estimated at ₹30.25 lakh crore (13.4% growth).
- Per Capita Income: Expected to reach ₹1,20,000.
- Fiscal Deficit: Capped strictly at 3% of GSDP.
- Unemployment Rate: Reported to have fallen to 2.24%.

Social Welfare & Women:
- Kanya Sumangala/Marriage Grant: The financial aid for daughters’ marriages doubled from ₹50,000 to ₹1 lakh.
- Tablets/Smartphones: ₹2,374 crore for free distribution to students.
- Meritorious Students: ₹400 crore for free scooties for top-performing girl students.
- Health: Provision for pilot mobile health vans for construction workers and labor shelters for migrants.
Youth & Employment:
- 10 Lakh Jobs: Goal to provide employment to 1 million youth.
- UP Employment Mission: A new mission launched to expand domestic and overseas job opportunities.
- AI & Tech: Introduction of the “Tech Yuva Samarth Yuva Yojana” and a dedicated AI Mission to train youth in emerging technologies.
- Entrepreneurship: ₹1,000 crore for the Mukhyamantri Yuva Udyami Vikas Abhiyan to help start 1 lakh micro-enterprises annually.
Infrastructure & Industry:
- Industrial Push: ₹27,103 crore for infrastructure and industrial development (13% hike).
- Expressways: Funds for 4 new expressways (Agra-Lucknow, Ganga, Vindhya, and Bundelkhand-Riwa).
- Data Centers: Target to set up 8 data center parks across the state.
- Ayodhya: ₹100 crore allocated specifically for the overall development of Ayodhya.
- Textiles: A massive 5-fold increase in funding for the textile sector to create garment hubs.
Agriculture:
- Sugarcane Price Hike: Prices raised by ₹30 per quintal for the 2025-26 season.
- Record Payments: Over ₹3.04 lakh crore in sugarcane payments made during the government’s tenure.
- Solar Energy: Transitioning diesel-based tube wells to solar-powered ones in a phased manner.
- Youth & Employment: A new UP Employment Mission and the “Tech Yuva Samarth Yuva Yojana” aim to provide jobs and training in emerging tech like AI.
- Agriculture: Record sugarcane payments and an increase in the purchase price (by ₹30/quintal) highlight the focus on farmer prosperity.
