About the Index:

• Definition: A specialized thematic equity index designed to track companies whose business practices align with “Ahimsa” (non-violence towards animals).

The AIM Screening Framework (How it Works):

The index categorizes companies into three distinct color-coded bands based on their animal welfare impact:

1. Green Band (Fully Aligned): Companies that do not engage in activities harmful to animals. Only these companies qualify for inclusion.

2. Orange Band (Partially Aligned): Includes certain consumer goods or retail businesses with partial exposure; excluded from the index.

3. Red Band (Non-Compliant): Strictly excludes companies involved in meat, dairy, poultry, leather, fashion using wool/leather, cosmetics/pharmaceuticals utilizing animal testing, alcohol, tobacco, weapons, or gambling.
