The Global Investment Risk and Resilience Index 2025, published by Henley & Partners in collaboration with AlphaGeo, provides a dual-lens view of 226 countries. It doesn’t just look at how much risk an investor faces (Exposure) but also how well a country can handle and bounce back from those risks (Preparedness).
The top tier is dominated by European nations and Singapore, characterized by “Prime Market” status—where high resilience effectively mitigates low-to-moderate risks.
| Rank | Country | Score | Key Driver |
| 1 | Switzerland | 88.42 | World leader in Innovation and Legal/Regulatory stability. |
| 2 | Denmark | 85.09 | Exceptional Social Progress and Governance quality. |
| 3 | Norway | 83.54 | Strong External Accounts and Climate Resilience. |
| 4 | Singapore | 83.37 | #1 Globally for lowest Legal and Regulatory Risk. |
| 5 | Sweden | 83.18 | High scores in Green Tech and Digital Innovation. |
| 6 | Luxembourg | 83.03 | Stability driven by transparency and economic openness. |
| 7 | Finland | 82.14 | Strong sustainability and institutional transparency. |
| 8 | Greenland | 81.24 | High adaptive capacity despite a small economy. |
| 9 | Netherlands | 80.79 | Strong infrastructure and climate adaptation. |
| 10 | Germany | 80.71 | Leads the G7; high industrial and technological sophistication. |
These nations fall into the “Risk Watchlist” category. They are often characterized by “Double Burden”—extreme vulnerability to shocks combined with a lack of institutional capacity to recover.

For competitive exams like UPSC, India’s performance is a critical data point:
Rank: India ranks 155th globally.
The “BRICS” Context: India is among the lowest-ranked BRICS members (China leads at 49th).
The Challenge: While India shows “Moderate Resilience” due to its innovation ecosystem and digital transformation, it is weighed down by “High Risk” factors, specifically Physical Climate Hazards, regulatory uncertainty, and socio-economic inequality.
Multinational corporations continue to dominate the global economy, and the 2025 Hurun Global 1000 Report clearly reflects this trend. Released recently, the report ranks the 1,000 most valuable companies worldwide, expanding from the earlier list of 500 companies.
A major highlight this year is that Nvidia has overtaken both Microsoft and Apple to become the world’s most valuable company in 2025, driven by the unprecedented boom in artificial intelligence (AI) technologies.
This report is especially important for competitive exam aspirants, as it reflects global economic power, corporate dominance, and sectoral trends.
Nvidia climbed two positions to secure the No.1 spot globally, with a massive market capitalisation of $4.63 trillion.
