Union Minister for Minority Affairs Shri Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi has recently announced that the next “HunarHaat” will be organised at Numaish Ground, Rampur(UP) from 18th to 27th December, 2020 and Shilp Gram, Lucknow (UP) from 23rd to 31st January 2021.
The theme is “Vocal for Local”.
It is Organised by ministry of minority affairs under “USTTAD” scheme at different parts of the country. Hunar means mastery in any art or genre. Haat means market.
USTTAD (Upgrading the Skills and Training in Traditional Arts/Crafts for Development) scheme aims to preserve heritage of traditional arts and crafts of minority communities and build capacity of traditional crafts persons and artisans and establish linkages of traditional skills with the global market.
In 1986–87, there was a military standoff in the Sumdorong Chu Valley, located on the border of Tawang District, Arunachal Pradesh and Kona County, Tibet, between India and China.
